Jackie Morin

Watercolor Artist

I never realized that I had any artistic talent until I took a watercolor class in college. I was hooked! That’s when I discovered that I liked to create art.

I enjoy the freedom of moving the paint around the paper, creating a scene from a colorful puddle of water. It helps me disappear into my own paintings, into my own work, thoughts and daydreams.  I enjoy painting Zentangles and abstracts and can see the beauty of a nude but, of course, with my own form of total chaos, where the lines and shapes resemble a small-town road map.  I like to create in unique ways, being playful, daring, almost inventing my own crooked creations as I go. I like to color outside the lines, bending my thoughts to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

I am into all mediums; watercolors, pen and ink, pastels… whatever it takes to create all the colors under the rainbow.  I love color! I’ve even painted with old makeup and beet juice just to see the results.

My art comes within, expressing my thoughts and ideas onto my paper.  Expression of art is within your own heart and soul, to be inspired by your own thoughts and daydreams and to share it with others.  I hope you enjoy what you see within my paintings.

Expressions

My pallet will ask the question, as my paper gives the answer,

Picking up my brush to paint, I begin my journey into adventure.

I dream and wonder what it would be like to step inside my creation,

To touch, breathe and experience the surroundings of my imagination.

I am walking through a rain drop as it falls from the blue sky above,

To be a silhouette gazing in the eyes of another, waiting to fall in love.

Or to be a shadow against the sun on a stream of flowing seas,

Watching as I disappear, as the sun slowly leaves.

As my brush whispers its final touch, I feel my last expression,

And bring myself back to reality to leave my final impression.
